1979

I’m not sure if it’s an end of an era or the beginning of one for me. With Bob Lemon dropping off, everybody on this year’s ballot I had one of their baseball cards. It’s kind of like voting for my childhood friends (tho I was 23 years old in 1979). I know what these guys stats are without looking them up; I know what they looked like; with TV I know how most of them played. ‘Course, I assume that they all smelled like really hard, cheap chewing gum.

This election will end Tuesday.
